体色は、背部は藍色、腹部は光沢のある銀白色をしている。

体形は側扁し、とても細長くスリムなボディ。

体表には、無数の灰色の斑紋が見られるのも特徴です。

This is a young fish.

This fish is called “Sagoti” in Kanto, though called “Sagosi” in Kansai which means a narrow waist.

The color of the back part of the body is indigo blue, and the abdomen is silver-white with the luster.

The shape of the body is flat right and left, and is very slim and long.

Another feature is that there are innumerable gray spots on the surface of the body.

You have a chance to see all these different kinds of fish

in our facilities along Suruga Bay of Shizuoka prefecture

where it is well-renowned for beautiful Mt. Fuji.
