体形は、卵形で強く側扁する。

体色は、鈍い銀白色で、光沢のある銀色の鱗に覆われる。

細かい鱗は剥がれやすい。

外洋ものが多いそうで、駿河湾ものは極めて稀。

The color of the body is dull silver white covered with small silver scale with the luster.

The small scale is easy to come off.

There seem to be produced in open sea, and extremely rare in Suruga Bay.

in our facilities along Suruga Bay of Shizuoka prefecture

where it is well-renowned for beautiful Mt. Fuji.
